A nose surface might feel dry at times, wet after drinking or licking, warm in cool rooms, or cool in hot weather or after exertion. Because there isn’t one fixed normal state, describing normal nose conditions as being dry, wet, warm, or cold captures the real range you might observe. It’s important to remember that a single nose reading doesn’t diagnose health—look at the whole picture, including behavior, appetite, hydration, mucous membrane color, and other signs, to assess well-being.
